Living in Florida for over 30 years I had never been to Flamingo Gardens.
What exactly is Flamingo Gardens you ask? Flamingo Gardens is a Botanical Garden as well as a Bird Sanctuary located in Davie, Florida.
The property is 60 acres of Tropical paradise with Beautiful Plants, large Trees and wildlife.
Oh course they have Flamingos as the name states but they also have Alligators, Panthers and even a bear named Josh.
Flamingo Gardens has a rich history here in Florida, the property was founded in 1927, which means they are celebrating 90 years this year!
Flamingo Gardens has a special exhibit going on now – September 4, 2017 called Lost World Of Dinosaurs.
Scattered throughout the front gardens are Giant Dinosaurs. You can take a walk through history and learn about the different Dinosaurs by reading the signs in front of each exhibit.
My kids really got a kick out of how realistic and how big these dinosaurs are.
If you have a dinosaur lover in your life, I would highly recommend checking out this special exhibit before they become extinct again!
Another highlight of the day for my youngest was the wild peacocks that roam free.
They have 70 peacocks on the property. All roam free and make lots of loud screaming noises, you cant miss them as you walk through the park!
We learned that fact on the tram ride and my daughter must have told everyone we encountered on the way home about the “70 peacocks”.
How Beautiful are these birds!
Make sure to check out the Wray Home Museum also on property. This beautiful home was built in 1933 and was the weekend home of the Flamingo Gardens Founders.
The park also offers a narrated tram ride which is included in the admission price. Do not miss this tour.
The tram ride takes about 20-30 minutes. This tour takes you through the back parts of the property. Our tour guide was so knowledgeable with the different plants, trees, wildlife and history. Both myself and my kids learned a lot of information on the tram tour.
Check out some of the amazing trees and beautiful nature we saw while on the tram tour :
Mom Tip: Bring Sunscreen and Bug Spray. The cafe and food truck sells snacks, ice cream and drinks!
Another favorite part of our day was playing with an App the Park has where you can get pictures really close to the animals and dinosaurs.
I highly recommend you download the app and get some really fun pictures for memories! Signs are all over the park with instructions to do so.
We had a fun day at Flamingo Gardens!
What a hidden Gem, I honestly had no idea even existed.
Even from the road you would have no Idea the beauty behind the gates!
I would suggest Flamingo Gardens to both locals and tourists for a fun day filled with Florida History and wildlife.

So cute! My family and I went on Memorial Day (yesterday) and had lots of fun. We took pics similar to yours too–although your acting skills around that dinosaur are much better than mine! Thanks for sharing!
