Every year there is that one Toy, you know that toy that is beyond popular.
The one that is sold out everywhere, over priced online and that toy the store employees are sick and tired of being asked about.
This year it’s the Fingerlings.
I mean they are cute but am I the only mom who is thinking what the Heck is the rage all about with these things? I see the moms going crazy in the mom groups on Facebook. “Anyone know where I can buy fingerlings?”. The best ones are the price gougers. We bought this Monkey in good old Wallyworld a few months ago before I even knew it was the “Hot” toy of the season. We paid $14.99. It honestly boggles my mind to see these Moms going into the stores buying every single one on the shelf and than selling them to other moms for a profit more than double. Listen I am all for Moms getting their hustle on but I don’t understand this one. Than there are the “FAKE” ones floating around now too. Lots of funny Monkey business going on.
Ok Now onto the review of the actual toy!
After I personally played with it and watched some youtube videos on it I can still say I don’t understand what the Rage is about. Yes they are cute but they really don’t do much. They make noises, they go to sleep and snore and they fart! I honestly think that is my 8 year olds favorite part about the monkey. If you hold your hand over the head completely than it farts and laughs at itself. When we first bought the toy my daughter was under the impression the monkey would crawl down a tennis racket because that is what the commercial says. So she thought it would crawl down her finger or whatever else she hooked it to. It does slide a tiny due to gravity but nothing special the toy actually does. We also watched some youtube videos that say it blows kisses back. Have no got it to do that after numerous tries.
Final Verdict:
The Monkey is cute, I won’t take that away from it. If you find one for retail price of $14.99 grab it but I would not spend a fortune or kill yourself trying to find one. I promise you there is going to be tons on the shelves right after the holidays. That is always how it work. Happened with the Hatchimals, tickle me Elmo and even Doc McStuffins Check up Center!
It’s funny how every Christmas there is that One toy every kid has to have that make the moms go crazy to get their hands on one. Half of those kids don’t even know the toy exists much less do they want or ask for the hot item toy!
With that said my daughter played with her Fingerlings Monkey for about 2 days and she hasn’t touched it since. It has been hanging upside down on a mirror for months.
Im just curious whose kid is still playing with that Hatchimal from last year?

When I was a kid, it was Cabbage Patch dolls. Guess the toys like these are like videos – they go viral, and they sell out. Sometimes, though, not getting it is a deeper lesson for the holiday season – for the kids, and the adults. ❣️

I remember when I was a teenager going crazy on black Friday with my Aunt for the “hottest” toys for my nieces! It is crazy. I am not looking forward to that with my 16 month old as she grows up.
