Thanksgiving is over and now its time to roll in the holiday festivities! Does anyone else feel like the year is flying by! I can’t believe it is Christmas time already!
Nothing better than Christmas Lights! We love to drive through neighborhoods with nicely decorated homes!
After doing a little research online for places with great light displays we decided to check out Hoffman’s Chocolates in Greenacres/Lake Worth Florida!
The walk through lighting display is totally free to the public! I mean hello who doesn’t love a FREE event! There is a beautiful garden in the back of the chocolate factory when you can walk through the lights at your own pace! Don’t forget to bring your camera there is a ton of photo opportunities available! I also really like they they include both Christmas and Hanukah in the lighting displays!
Let’s talk about parking. We got there right when they opened and their was still a ton of people there. I had this grand plan that we would go Sunday evening right when they opened because everyone else would be going to bed since tomorrow is a school day. Yeah right, everyone else had my idea as well. There is parking at the school down the road. If you have little kids I highly suggest a stroller or carrying them for the walk. Plan ahead so you aren’t complaining about the parking or walking when you arrive. There is handicap parking in the front if you truly need it!
Another Benefit of going on the weekend is Santa and Mrs. Claus are there. This is free of charge as well. You have to take your own pictures, which I prefer anyways. Again we did get there right when they opened for the evening and the line for Santa was wrapped around the Garden already. The free cookies they were giving out were also long gone. So be prepared it is very crowded and the Santa line is long but it does move along quickly! Santa and Mrs. Claus are only there are Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings! If you are looking to avoid the crowds and don’t mind missing Santa than maybe try a week day.
If you follow my blog you know I am very into giving back and charity so I was very happy to see Hoffman’s tied a give back into this event. When you walk into the lighting display you are handed two tickets. The tickets are for voting, so do not lose these tickets! Make sure to head over the the wreath wall and vote for your favorite wreath. Each wreath is make by a charity and the charity with the most votes at the end of the Season will win $1000!! Please Please Please I beg you do not let your ticket go to waste, make sure you use your tickets to vote! This activity is also Free of Charge you!
I voted for the Make a Wish Wreath, I just love the whole concept behind make a wish and I do know a few children with cancer who benefited from Make A Wish! My Kids really liked the Helping Hands wreath so they both voted for that one! Its fun to get the kids involved and explain to them the voting and the great concept behind the tickets and wreaths!
This year Hoffman’s Chocolates along with the Florida Panthers have added an Ice Skating rink to the festivities! The rink is located on the opposite side of the building from the lighting displays. Ice Skating is $15 per person. We went to see what it looked like but decided to skip ice skating as the thought of two kids vs one adult ice skating wasn’t really my ideal situation! The kids skating did look like they were having a blast though!
Don’t forgot to stop in the chocolate factory before you leave and grab a yummy treat! Everything is make right these on property and so delicious!
